Home to Margaret River SLSC, this beach provides calm conditions for the 6-12 year old Woodside Nippers, who train here every Sunday.
This beach provides visitors with free toilet and shower facilities, next to the car park, as well as a public boat ramp.
If your feeling peckish, a cafe just south of the boat ramp, called White Elephant Cafe is very popular among tourists and locals alike.
The lookout on top of the cliff offers spectacular views over the beach and Surfers Point and the Rivermouth in the distance.
A dog exercise area also extends along the northern half of the beach.
Swimming Info
For swimming, this beach is best in the mornings before the south-westerly breeze comes in. It is a relatively safe beach, perfect for experienced swimmers, with the exception being when shore-breaking waves, over 1 meter, can cause a rip to develop towards the southern rocks.
Surfing Info
Like many beaches in the Margaret River area, this beach provides great surf. Off the southern end, there is a break known as ‘Boat Ramp’, and further north is ‘The Bombie’, both of which hold big swell, and often attract professional surfers. Towards the northern end of the beach is another break called Suicides.
Beach Patrol
Margaret River Surf Life Saving Club conducts patrols of Gnarabup Beach over weekends and public holidays between October and April each year. For further information regarding patrol dates and times, visit beachsafe.org.au.
