So many of our members were parents who initially joined just because they were signing their kids up for Woodside Nippers or the youth programs, and before they know it, they’re spending more time at the beach and on the sand than the kids!
You’ll soon find that surf life saving offers a chance to not only make new friends while spending time on our amazing coastline, but also countless opportunities to develop new skills, build networks, and contribute to the local community. Many of our parents get qualified in water safety with a Nipper Rescue Certificate, or complete the Age Managers Course and help train juniors!
And if you’re interested in becoming a surf lifesaver, there are so many ways to patrol between the flags; even roles where you don’t even need to get your feet wet! Whatever your age or skills, there is a role for you in surf life saving!
